  Very pleased with our large job done by Troy and his crew. They went out of their way to join the Ashphalt up to an existing step and concrete path. They also removed a grassy area to finish nicely against a rock wall. After spending two days preparing the ground, today, they started laying the asphalt at about 6 am and continued until the whole job was completed after dark! Highly recommend. AAA+++

  I cannot recommend SSB enough. Troy and his team are a pleasure to work with. The price is very reasonable and he ended up doing little extra bits for us at no extra cost. The quality of the work is amazing. We have had so many compliments. We had 1300m2 of Asphalt layer and the end result was like black satin. It looks so nice we didn’t want to drive on it. After completion Troy popped over to see how the project was going and if we were happy with everything and was so helpful with advice of completing other parts of the project.

  Troy was engaged to seal a section of my hardstand that was now exposed natural ground after having a retaining wall moved back. My block is sandstone covered with a clay base then sandy loam, and encounters a lot of run off from neighbouring properties. The original basework was done by Troy in mid April. Initially the ground appeared hard and was firm to walk on. However when Troy ran his bobcat over his basework, the clay base underneath was moving under the weight of his machine. This was due to underground moisture. Troy attended my property several times over the next few weeks at no cost to inspect the basework. It became apparent to us both that the clay base needed to be capped to ensure that water didn't penetrate the bitumen from underneath once laid. We elected to remove the existing base and replace with a mix of concrete and roadbase to form a cap. Once laid and watered in, Troy then sealed this with hotmix before laying the bitumen the following day. Whilst he was there Troy also removed a section of my driveway that had been damaged by trucks, extended and fortified the shoulder and relaid the bitumen. Several other small areas were also cut out and repaired at the same time. Troy's revised quotation for all the extra work was extremely fair and reasonable. I found Troy to be extremely knowledgable with his trade, and pleasant to deal with. More than happy to recommend.
