Not only is Adam a nice bloke he's also a great stoneworker who kept me informed every step of the way, sourced some perfect rock and integrated a quirky little workaround for the water meter. Pics are freshly taken and the mortar is mellowing as it drys. I couldn't recommend Adam Miller more highly. I barely had to wait for him to slot the job in, and he arrived early every day. The new section of wall blends with other work around my small West Hobart property - and I love it!

As a customer of Adam’s I couldn’t be happier with the work that Adam did on our property. From start to finish, he displayed exceptional skill and professionalism. He transformed our old fallen down stone wall into something even more lovely. Every stone is perfectly fitted, and the overall wall looks great but also feels incredibly sturdy and built to last. Adam was also a pleasure to work with, keeping me updated and making sure I was happy every step of the way. Adam also provided me with a fixed quote price which really assisted me with budgeting. I highly recommend Adam to anyone looking for quality stonework!”

Adam is a first class stone mason, was on time met his quote and the quality of his work was excellent and he kept all his promises. Our job was to repair a severely damaged 190 Year old convict stone wall, on the National Heritage register. A perfect match with the undamaged section of the wall was the result.

Adam transformed my badly damaged and old sandstone wall into a thing of beauty. He has an artistic eye and a perfectionism which come together brilliantly. Thanks Adam!

Bricklaying costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do bricklayers typically charge?
Costs for bricklaying vary depending on the job—simple repairs are typically much less than building new walls that need footings or excavation. Many bricklayers charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, and after-hours or specialist heritage work is often charged at higher rates. This page shows live pricing to help you compare quotes.
Do bricklayers charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common for bricklayers, particularly for small or single-visit jobs. This fee is usually separate from labour and materials costs. It's worth asking each tradesperson whether a call-out or minimum charge applies to your job.
Do bricklayers need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Bricklayers must be licensed in every Australian state and territory; in NSW the relevant authority is Building Commission NSW (formerly NSW Fair Trading). You should ask to see a valid state contractor licence or registration and proof of public liability insurance before work begins.
Does Adam Miller Stonework have a verified ABN?
