Phillip Island Arborist quoted and completed the removal of five trees on my property. The arborists turned up on time, worked very hard all day, worked safely and diligently lowered branches down to avoid damaging our established garden and other infrastructure. Their skill levels were amazing. They cleaned up properly after the work was completed. We were very pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend these professionals to anyone who has a need to remove/prune trees in challenging locations.

We are delighted with the professional and careful work provided by Phillip Island Arborist in maintaining our significant and ancient trees. Dean and Chris were able to reduce the weight of this massive flowering gum and to leave us with the firewood to share. We can confidently recommend.

Just want to say a big thank you to Phillip Island Arborist for doing such a superb job on our much needed garden. They were polite, prompt and professional from the time they came to give us a quote to completion. They took photos before and after and we were highly impressed by the complete transformation of our entire garden. They also cleaned up all the debris. A job extremely well done and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for all of the above.

Adam and his team are fast and reliable, and have been able to help us out with small and larger jobs, always very quickly with great communication. They have restored our hedges after they had been neglected, they are now thriving and being maintained well! We have also had a number of yukkas cut and ground out. Adam always fits us in and has helped out other people in our area after major weather events that cause hazards on our road. Highly recommend Phillip Island Arborist!! They have been working on the Island for many years. Support your locals!

Arborist costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do arborists typically charge?
Arborist costs vary widely depending on the type and scale of work. Factors such as tree size and species, site access, whether removal and stump grinding are needed, required equipment and disposal all affect the total. Most quotes separate a call-out component from labour and materials, and after-hours or emergency jobs generally attract higher rates. The live pricing on this page shows current estimates for different job types.
Do arborists charge call-out fees?
Many arborists charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, which is usually separate from labour and materials. That fee typically covers travel and the initial site inspection, and smaller or remote jobs may be subject to a minimum charge. It's worth confirming whether a call-out fee is included in any quote you receive.
When do arborists need a licence?
Arborists often need registration or specific contractor credentials for higher-risk, large-scale or regulated tree work. Where the scope overlaps with regulated building or contractor work, providers should hold a valid state contractor or builder credential and comply with local council permit requirements for protected trees. For higher‑risk tasks, look for evidence of public liability insurance, documented work-at-heights controls and SWMS.
How do I get a quote from Phillip Island Arborist?
