Colin provided expert advice on what we needed to do which would be best for our property and the remaining trees. He provided a quotation and there were no suprises. Removed 5 trees, pruned olives, and grind stumps. He has a well equipped professional crew who made short work of the trees that need to be removed. The site was cleaned up and there was no collateral damage to the fence or neighbours property. Highly recommended. Thanks Colin & crew at The Local Tree Care.

We have used Local Tree Care on a number of occasions now and the quality of their service has been exceptional. Initially we had a number of large trees which needed to be pruned and subsequent to that we decided to remove them.from our suburban backyard. Local Tree Care arrived on time and completed the work quickly and efficiently, which is not common with a lot of tradies. If we were not impressed with the service we would never have used them a second time. These guys are easy to deal with and will offer advice on the best option available to you. I have no problem in recommending Local Tree Care - great service!

I cannot fault the service I’ve received from the Local Tree Care staff. Colin , Paul and James were professional, polite , responsive and helpful . I used another tree service to do exactly the same job (ie prune a mature Chinese Elm ) 2.5 years ago . Their work was substandard compared with Local Tree Care. I had complete confidence in the work Paul and James were doing as Paul explained everything to me. He stopped and checked with me several times during the pruning to ensure I was happy with the work . I will use their services again and highly recommend them ! Thanks guys , Liz

Colin and his qualified crew are couteous, reliable and 100% professional. Drew and the team made a very difficult job look easy, not for the faint hearted. After putting up with constant shedding (big and dangerous) branches, leaf matter and debris (for years) I am thrilled to have the problem resolved. The house has so much more natural light and we can now enjoy the view and the blue sky. What an efficient, well-oiled machine Local Tree Care is! Highly recommend!

Arborist costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do arborists typically charge?
Arborist costs vary widely depending on the type and scale of work. Factors such as tree size and species, site access, whether removal and stump grinding are needed, required equipment and disposal all affect the total. Most quotes separate a call-out component from labour and materials, and after-hours or emergency jobs generally attract higher rates. The live pricing on this page shows current estimates for different job types.
Do arborists charge call-out fees?
Many arborists charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, which is usually separate from labour and materials. That fee typically covers travel and the initial site inspection, and smaller or remote jobs may be subject to a minimum charge. It's worth confirming whether a call-out fee is included in any quote you receive.
When do arborists need a licence?
Arborists often need registration or specific contractor credentials for higher-risk, large-scale or regulated tree work. Where the scope overlaps with regulated building or contractor work, providers should hold a valid state contractor or builder credential and comply with local council permit requirements for protected trees. For higher‑risk tasks, look for evidence of public liability insurance, documented work-at-heights controls and SWMS.
How do I get a quote from Local Tree Care?
