Dan was quick to respond and arrive to quote. He was able to turn the job around quickly and did a great job. Great advice and very pleasant to deal with along with an excellent price. I'd thoroughly recommend him to anyone needing a reliable tree service. One tree or ten he seems to manage it very well.

You can see from the pics, we let our dwarf plum tree get completely out of control. After 4 years of watching it slowly overtake the yucca we found Dan of Forbes Tree Care to give the tree some much needed attention. Dan was extremely quick to respond to our call at 6pm on a Monday. The expediency of his work was consistent when he visited and quoted on Tuesday then carried out the job on Sunday within approx. 2 hrs. Dan's a fast, professional and hard worker. He left the garden as tidy as he found it and we would thoroughly recommend his services.

Frequently asked questions

How much do arborists typically charge?
Arborist costs vary widely depending on the type and scale of work. Factors such as tree size and species, site access, whether removal and stump grinding are needed, required equipment and disposal all affect the total. Most quotes separate a call-out component from labour and materials, and after-hours or emergency jobs generally attract higher rates. The live pricing on this page shows current estimates for different job types.
Do arborists charge call-out fees?
Many arborists charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, which is usually separate from labour and materials. That fee typically covers travel and the initial site inspection, and smaller or remote jobs may be subject to a minimum charge. It's worth confirming whether a call-out fee is included in any quote you receive.
When do arborists need a licence?
Arborists often need registration or specific contractor credentials for higher-risk, large-scale or regulated tree work. Where the scope overlaps with regulated building or contractor work, providers should hold a valid state contractor or builder credential and comply with local council permit requirements for protected trees. For higher‑risk tasks, look for evidence of public liability insurance, documented work-at-heights controls and SWMS.
How do I get a quote from Forbes Tree Care?
Forbes Tree Care lists phone, email, or through their website on this profile, so you can contact them directly for pricing and availability. Share a short scope and photos to get a faster quote.
