Recently had Gold Coast Stump Grinders come and remove four Yukka stumps from our house in Mudgeeraba. What would have taken me 6hrs of digging took Nick about 15 minutes (which was less than the half hour he suggested). Nick was super efficient, explained there might be a bit of mulch spray around (there was very little in the end) and was ultra professional. I fully recommend Nick if you need to remove stumps from the yard. I've included a photo of the finished area, ready for preparation before turf gets laid

Incredibly grateful to Nick. We had a messy little job and had another quote from elsewhere that seemed pretty expensive for an estimated 2-3 hours (over a weeks wages). We texted Nick, his quote was less than half the other dude. He arrived promptly, helped us navigate one or two little challenges and completed the job in 45 mins including cleaning. So grateful to have it done and not be ripped off. He is good at his job, professional and fair. Wouldn’t hesitate to use again.(in fact we will have to).

Nick was very professional and friendly, came out to do a few different levels of stump grinding at our place and there is nothing to fault. Also reasonably priced.

Arborist costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do arborists typically charge?
Arborist costs vary widely depending on the type and scale of work. Factors such as tree size and species, site access, whether removal and stump grinding are needed, required equipment and disposal all affect the total. Most quotes separate a call-out component from labour and materials, and after-hours or emergency jobs generally attract higher rates. The live pricing on this page shows current estimates for different job types.
Do arborists charge call-out fees?
Many arborists charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, which is usually separate from labour and materials. That fee typically covers travel and the initial site inspection, and smaller or remote jobs may be subject to a minimum charge. It's worth confirming whether a call-out fee is included in any quote you receive.
When do arborists need a licence?
Arborists often need registration or specific contractor credentials for higher-risk, large-scale or regulated tree work. Where the scope overlaps with regulated building or contractor work, providers should hold a valid state contractor or builder credential and comply with local council permit requirements for protected trees. For higher‑risk tasks, look for evidence of public liability insurance, documented work-at-heights controls and SWMS.
