I recently utilised the services of Riverina Tree Fellas to remove a walnut tree. I received a quick response with my initial phone inquiry. I was happy with the quote and satisfied with the prompt service removing the tree. I recommend Riverina Tree Fellas for tree removal and stump mulching. UPDATE: March 2025 Riverina Tree Fellas removed two more trees. I can highly recommend them to remove trees and mulch tree stumps.

The boys from Riverina Tree Fellas recently came and dealt with a huge tree at the front of our property and we were stoked at how great a job they did. They did the work over two days, and after second day, it was like the tree was never there. Not only did they take away all of the green waste, but they tidied up the front lawn and made the area “presentable” before they left - absolutely above and beyond service and communication and would 100% use again.

Came to quote when he said he would. Service is competitively priced. We have a big place with mature trees. They know their trees and gave good advice, which gave me confidence in their skill. Turned up on time, worked non-stop. Cleaned up afterwards. Very good communicator, responsive and reliable. Will use them again.

Arborist costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do arborists typically charge?
Arborist costs vary widely depending on the type and scale of work. Factors such as tree size and species, site access, whether removal and stump grinding are needed, required equipment and disposal all affect the total. Most quotes separate a call-out component from labour and materials, and after-hours or emergency jobs generally attract higher rates. The live pricing on this page shows current estimates for different job types.
Do arborists charge call-out fees?
Many arborists charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, which is usually separate from labour and materials. That fee typically covers travel and the initial site inspection, and smaller or remote jobs may be subject to a minimum charge. It's worth confirming whether a call-out fee is included in any quote you receive.
When do arborists need a licence?
Arborists often need registration or specific contractor credentials for higher-risk, large-scale or regulated tree work. Where the scope overlaps with regulated building or contractor work, providers should hold a valid state contractor or builder credential and comply with local council permit requirements for protected trees. For higher‑risk tasks, look for evidence of public liability insurance, documented work-at-heights controls and SWMS.
