Andy, Gus and the team did the job I asked, Working Safely and efficiently. Very friendly and happy, a great outcome for me, the trees I had to remove were a hazard. The wood is cut up waiting for a cold winter to come to be used as fire wood. I would recommend this team to anyone. Thank you

If I could give 10 stars I would! Great advice and provision of Tree Report for Council. On the day, Gus, Jordie and Lochie worked so skilfully as a team, taking down and removing four trees on the boundary including a couple of 18m and 22m Sheoaks. Amazing to see. True professionals. Plenty of firewood for next year and nice neat piles of mulch over the stump holes. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Mudgee Tree Services did a fantastic job trimming a large Chinese elm in our back yard. They provided a friendly and efficient service, and I'd definitely use them again.

Gus, Jordan and Lockey from Mudgee tree services removed a 12 MTR Chinese Elm from my residence on Thursday. They were punctual, efficient and very professional in there sevice. They took the upmost care in removing the tree causing no damage to property, garden and lawn. Full stump grinding, not missing anything. They preformed an amazing clean up at end of work leaving my place neat and presentable. But best of all, the quoted price didn't change and they are THOUSANDS of dollars cheaper than there local competitor. I truly recommend using this company, as I will again.

Arborist costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do arborists typically charge?
Arborist costs vary widely depending on the type and scale of work. Factors such as tree size and species, site access, whether removal and stump grinding are needed, required equipment and disposal all affect the total. Most quotes separate a call-out component from labour and materials, and after-hours or emergency jobs generally attract higher rates. The live pricing on this page shows current estimates for different job types.
Do arborists charge call-out fees?
Many arborists charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, which is usually separate from labour and materials. That fee typically covers travel and the initial site inspection, and smaller or remote jobs may be subject to a minimum charge. It's worth confirming whether a call-out fee is included in any quote you receive.
When do arborists need a licence?
Arborists often need registration or specific contractor credentials for higher-risk, large-scale or regulated tree work. Where the scope overlaps with regulated building or contractor work, providers should hold a valid state contractor or builder credential and comply with local council permit requirements for protected trees. For higher‑risk tasks, look for evidence of public liability insurance, documented work-at-heights controls and SWMS.
Does Mudgee Tree Services have a verified ABN?
