Jordy from East Coast Tree Works is fantastic ! He came out to our property at short notice (even though he had injured his hand the day before) and climbed and pruned our four very tall palms. They had many dead fronds and large seed pods which he removed and took away, leaving our place nice and clean. Jordy is friendly, reliable and an expert in his field with competitive prices. I have no hesitation recommending him to anyone of in need of tree maintenance. I’ve posted some before and after photos. From Andrew near Taree. 😊

I found Jordy by chance when I had some troublesome seed pods hanging in a copse of palm trees in our garden. Not only did he immediately agree to do the job, but he arrived that afternoon. He had all the necessary equipment and had the pods down and palms all trimmed up before I knew it. The price was also very reasonable. I have used Jordy again since and again was very happy with the job. I have now arranged to have our trees trimmed and all rubbish removed. Jordy is not only efficient, affable and responsive but I have been very impressed with his knowledge regarding ‘when and how’ to correctly prune trees to ensure good healthy growth. Highly recommended.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I couldn’t be happier with the service from East Coast Tree Works – Mid North Coast. We only needed a couple of large limbs removed, but from start to finish the whole process was handled like a much bigger job. Communication was excellent — clear, prompt, and easy to deal with from the first call right through to completion. They turned up when they said they would, explained exactly what needed to be done, and carried out the work safely and efficiently. The crew was professional, respectful of the property, and left the area clean and tidy once the job was finished. On top of all that, the pricing was very fair and affordable, especially for the quality of work provided. If you’re looking for reliable, honest, and skilled arborists on the Mid North Coast, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend East Coast Tree Works. Will definitely use them again.

Arborist costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do arborists typically charge?
Arborist costs vary widely depending on the type and scale of work. Factors such as tree size and species, site access, whether removal and stump grinding are needed, required equipment and disposal all affect the total. Most quotes separate a call-out component from labour and materials, and after-hours or emergency jobs generally attract higher rates. The live pricing on this page shows current estimates for different job types.
Do arborists charge call-out fees?
Many arborists charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, which is usually separate from labour and materials. That fee typically covers travel and the initial site inspection, and smaller or remote jobs may be subject to a minimum charge. It's worth confirming whether a call-out fee is included in any quote you receive.
When do arborists need a licence?
Arborists often need registration or specific contractor credentials for higher-risk, large-scale or regulated tree work. Where the scope overlaps with regulated building or contractor work, providers should hold a valid state contractor or builder credential and comply with local council permit requirements for protected trees. For higher‑risk tasks, look for evidence of public liability insurance, documented work-at-heights controls and SWMS.
