These guys were subcontracted through the Victorian Veet scheme to install midea vsr AC units in my home Saturday 23rd Nov 2024. Three workers arrived, courteous clean and respectful. Sparky was a champion. Did the work clean and were responsive to my requests as I can be a bit fussy. Only thing I noticed that would be good for next time is to carry insulation on hand to block up the holes made behind the AC units when fitting in the copper pipes and drain hose (spiders and hot/cold air) and to put a cover of sorts (even just plastic wrapping) around the white insulated pipework on the roof as they tend to perish through the sun but I'll sort that out myself and don't think it's worthy of removing any stars. Overall happy and I thought would be good to put this review up to support the boys. Thanks for your efforts working on a 36degree day.

I recently had Daniel and his team from DP Heating and Cooling install a new AC split unit at my house. After they finished the job, I noticed my old AC unit wasn't working at its best. Daniel and his team came back to check it out, and they found there was actually a pressure leak. They came back twice to make sure everything was sorted and working well, especially since it was getting into winter. Their professionalism, responsiveness, kindness, and deep knowledge of their field really stood out. What impressed me most was how these values were clearly embodied by everyone on the team. As a fellow business owner, I know that these qualities always come from the top down, and Daniel sets a great example. Thank you, Daniel and team, for not just fixing the issue but for giving me peace of mind that everything’s now working perfectly. It’s rare to find a service provider you can trust completely these days. I highly recommend DP Heating and Cooling to anyone looking for quality and reliability. This is not a paid review, just an honest reflection of a great experience.

Frequently asked questions

How much do air conditioning specialists typically charge?

Costs vary widely depending on the job. Quotes typically reflect system type and size, number of units, access and installation complexity, any refrigerant recovery or replacement needed, and whether after-hours attendance is required; the page shows live pricing you can review.

Do air conditioning specialists charge call-out fees?

Many air conditioning specialists charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the system, which is usually separate from labour and materials. Call-out fees are common and after-hours or emergency attendances are often charged at higher rates, so it’s worth confirming these details when requesting quotes.

Do air conditioning specialists need a licence in Australia?

Yes. Refrigeration and air conditioning work generally requires a licensed contractor in every Australian state and territory, with NSW Fair Trading the relevant authority in New South Wales. Look for a valid state air conditioning/refrigeration contractor licence and, where refrigerant handling is involved, an ARC Tick (RHL); providers will often also display industry memberships and public liability insurance.
